Our Campus
Welcome to Nimitz
Welcome to Nimitz Middle School, home of the Seahawks. At Nimitz, we believe every student brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives to our school community. Middle school is a time to discover those strengths, deepen interests, and become a more confident and independent learner.
Guided by our commitment to learn, lead, and serve with honor, courage, and commitment, Nimitz combines strong academics with specialized programs and a wide range of opportunities to get involved. Whether students are pursuing STEM, developing bilingual skills, exploring leadership, competing academically, performing, creating, or trying something completely new, every Seahawk has opportunities to find their path.

What Makes Nimitz Special
NEISD STEM Academy
Nimitz is home to the middle school NEISD STEM Academy, a magnet program that uses a problem-based, technology-rich approach to learning. Students explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while developing the collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving skills that can prepare them for continued STEM study in high school and beyond.
Dual Language
Nimitz’s Dual Language program gives students the opportunity to continue developing bilingualism and biliteracy while strengthening their academic skills. Students build language proficiency and cultural understanding while preparing for advanced opportunities in high school and beyond.
Leadership Through Jr. Cadets
Nimitz is home to NEISD’s only middle school Jr. Cadet program, giving students a unique opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and service. It is one of several ways Seahawks can begin discovering what it means to lead and contribute to their community.
Find Your Challenge
There are many ways to challenge yourself at Nimitz. Students can participate in Academic UIL, fine arts, athletics, robotics, engineering, technology applications, Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, and other activities. Whether competing, creating, performing, building, or leading, Seahawks have opportunities to discover talents and build connections beyond the classroom.
