Mrs. Isabel Medina, Asst. Principal

It is with great excitement that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! I am honored to continue serving the Nimitz Middle School community as Assistant Principal. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside Dr. Sanchez and our outstanding staff to provide meaningful learning experiences and a safe, welcoming environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

Over the past 15 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving as a teacher, district coordinator, and administrator. Education is a second career that quickly became my passion. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that come with supporting students, collaborating with educators, and building strong relationships with families. My goal is to continue learning and growing as an educator so that I can best meet the diverse needs of our 21st-century learners and help every student reach their full potential.

Originally from Ecuador, I moved to San Antonio during my junior year of high school and have proudly called it home ever since. I earned both my bachelor's degree in Business and my master's degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Outside of work,I am a proud mom to two wonderful children, ages 21 and 18, who are both students at The University of Texas at Austin. I enjoy spending time with my family and cheering them on in all of their activities throughout the year. Beyond my family, I have a passion for lifelong learning. Whether it's reading, attending professional development, or exploring innovative ways to support students and staff, I believe that continuous learning helps me become a stronger leader and better serve our school community.

I look forward to another amazing year at Nimitz Middle School and to partnering with each of you to ensure the success of every Seahawk.

Mrs. Jennifer Jensen, STEM Director

Welcome to Nimitz/STEM Academy!

We are so excited to be serving your student this school year! STEM Academy is a place not quite like any other. We seek to serve our students through small learning communities, while still getting to take full advantage of the offerings of the main campus. It’s great to link arms with our Seahawk family!

Having served as an elementary teacher, a high school teacher, and STEM Assistant Director, I have a great understanding of meeting student needs. Our unique problem-based learning approach helps students make deep connections with the curriculum and encourages them to innovate and explore. I look forward to partnering with your family as we encourage students succeed in the classroom as well as in the various extracurricular activities in which they participate. It is an honor to work with each student, parent and faculty member in order to promote academic excellence in this positive and supportive learning environment!
